Remove the camshaft.
Mark the hydraulic tappets and remove them.
Caution: Store hydraulic tappets with the working surface (surface facing the cam) down.
Remove valve springs Specialized workshops use a special tool VW 2037 for this purpose. The valves can also be removed using a regular collet. But in this case, it is necessary to remove the intake or exhaust manifold. If the valve springs are compressed using the HAZET 2577-2 tool, it is necessary to put a cloth in the combustion chamber so that the valve does not fall down
Compress the valve springs and remove the valve crackers. Remove the upper valve spring plates and springs. Remove the valve.
Remove the oil seals.
