Table of contents: PS Engine ↓ NG Engine ↓

The common feature with the TCI-H ignition system is that the FEI system uses an ignition coil, a distributor with a Hall sensor, a power output unit (in the switch block on TCI-H), wiring, connectors and spark plugs. The difference is that the FEI unit provides control of the voltage from the Hall sensor and the signal from the Hall sensor is fed to terminal 2 on the power output unit via the control unit.
The ignition timing is determined by the FEI control unit, which is programmed from ROM, and is provided by the current engine status by the following components.
PS Engine
Knock sensor, Hall sensor, temperature sensor, throttle switches (idle and full load) and intake manifold pressure
NG Engine
Knock sensor, Hall sensor, Throttle body temperature switches sensor (idle and full load), air flow meter and altitude sensor (where is it used)
The control unit includes a self-monitoring feature that is specific to the specific engine.
