Pistons and connecting rods — removal and disassembly (Audi 80 B3)

See Part A, Chapter 19 from this Section. Removing the cylinder head is described in Chapter 36, removing the toothed drive belt - in Chapter 40.

Instead of removing the oil pump, remove the oil pan as described in Chapter 42, then unscrew the oil suction pipe as described in Chapter 44. Note that on the 20-valve engine, the connecting rod caps are equipped with an oil jet for piston cooling.
