- nominal:
- synchronizer of I and II gears: 1.10-1.70;
- synchronizer III and IV gears; 1.35-1.90;
- minimum allowable (when worn): 0,50.
The axial clearance of the gear of the fourth gear of the secondary shaft is selected by selecting the thickness of the retaining rings. Retaining rings 2.35 thick are supplied as spare parts; 2.38; 2.41; 2.44 and 2.47 mm.
The axial clearance of the gear of the third gear of the secondary shaft is selected by selecting the thickness of the retaining rings. 1.50 and 1.60 mm thick circlips are available as spare parts.
Axial clearance of the gear of the IV gear of the primary shaft, mm: 0.10-0.40. It is adjusted by selecting the thickness of the thrust washer. Thrust washers 3.47 thick are supplied as a spare part; 3.57 and 3.67 mm. Since June 1983, the design of the fourth gear drive gear has been changed. See section «Five-speed gearbox».
The position of the rear bearings of the primary and secondary shafts is regulated by the selection of the thickness of the adjusting rings installed in the sockets of the rear cover of the gearbox. Spare parts are supplied with adjusting rings with a thickness of 1.53; 1.58; 1.63 and 1.68 mm for rear input shaft bearing of gearbox type 014 II and thickness from 0.15 to 1.40 mm at intervals of 0.5 mm for rear bearing of gearbox input shaft type 014 I and thickness from 0, 40 to 0.75 mm at intervals of 0.05 mm for the rear output shaft bearing of gearbox type 014 II.
Landing depth of the speedometer drive drive gear relative to the end of the differential box, mm: 1.4.
Adjustment of the distance between the axis of the differential and the end of the drive gear of the main gear, which determines the contact of the working surface of the teeth of the gears of the main gear, is carried out by adjusting the gap between the rear bearing of the secondary shaft and the gearbox housing by installing adjusting rings of the required thickness. Spare parts for gearbox type 014 I are supplied with adjusting rings 0.15 mm thick and from 3.80 to 5.20 mm at intervals of 0.10 mm, for gearbox type 014 II adjusting rings with a thickness of 0.15; 0.20 and 0.25 mm and from 0.30 to 1.20 mm at intervals of every 0.10 mm.
Adjustment of the preload of the differential bearings and the backlash between the teeth of the final drive gears is carried out by installing adjusting rings between the differential bearing and the clutch housing. The lateral gap between the teeth of the main gear gears should be within 0.10-0.20 mm. The differential bearings must be mounted with a preload of 0.40 mm.
Spare parts are supplied with shims 0.15 and 1.20 mm thick and 0.20 to 1.00 mm thick at 0.10 mm intervals.
