On vehicles with a 6-cylinder engine (142 kW) The oil filler hole is on the left side.
The fuel tank is located on the left side of the engine compartment.
Maintaining a normal fluid level in the filler reservoir is essential to the smooth operation of the power steering and ride height control.
On vehicles with ride height control, the oil level depends on the load. Therefore, check the oil level only when the car is not loaded as follows.
Order of execution
1. Let the engine run for approximately 2 minutes. In this case, the front wheels must be in a straight line.
2. Stop the engine and check the oil level immediately.
3. Let the engine run for approximately 2 minutes. In this case, the front wheels must be in a straight line.
4. Stop the engine and check the oil level immediately.
5. To control, unscrew the cap with the oil dipstick. The fluid level must always be between the marks "min" And "max". When the level drops to the mark "min" add branded hydraulic fluid (Audi part number: G 002 000) and check the system for leaks.
Engine oil consumption is normal. Oil consumption can be up to 1 liter per 1000 km. Therefore, regularly, preferably at every refueling and before a long trip, check the engine oil level. The location of the oil dipstick is shown in the illustrations.
4- and 5-cylinder engines, 6-cylinder V-engine
8-cylinder V-engine
When measuring the oil level, the vehicle must be level. After turning off the engine, wait a few minutes for the oil to drain into the sump.
After that, remove the oil dipstick, wipe it with a clean cloth and reinsert it into the socket until it stops. Finally, remove the dipstick again and read the readings along its markings.
Oil dipstick marking
- a - oil can not be added
- b - oil can be topped up; in this case, it is permissible if after that the oil will be in zone a
- c - it is necessary to add oil: it is enough that after that the oil rises to zone b (corrugated zone)
Warning: When the engine is under increased load, for example, when driving for a long time on the motorway in summer, when towing a trailer or crossing passes in mountainous areas, keep the oil level in zone a if possible, but not higher.
