When conventional servo control is used, the power steering is provided without electronic control.
On vehicles with the Servotronic system, the electronic controller controls the operation of the power steering depending on the driving speed. If the Servotronic system fails, the power steering remains functional. However, the power steering is no longer adjusted according to the driving speed. Failure of the electronic controller is most clearly recognized by an unusual increase in the force on the steering wheel when maneuvering (for example, when driving into a free parking space). The fault must be rectified by an Audi dealer as soon as possible.
On vehicles with adjustable ground clearance, when a certain level of loading is reached (when placing about 100 kg of cargo in the trunk) the height of the rear part of the body above the road is automatically leveled.
When loading with the engine off, the rear part of the body begins to rise only after it is started. The final leveling in height is carried out during movement.
