Removal and installation the clutch slave cylinder (Audi A4 B7)

1. On models with independent/additional heating, unscrew the bolts (arrows in illustration 5.4 Chapter 2) its exhaust pipe from the soundproofing screen.

2. Release the fasteners (2 and 3 in Illustration 5.5 Chapter 2) and remove the front sound insulation.

3. Unscrew the bolt (see illustration 2.20) and pull the slave cylinder back.

Caution: Do not depress the clutch pedal after removing the slave cylinder.

4. Using a clamp, pinch the tube and hose assembly. Loosen the clamp (And in the illustration) screwdriver and pull it out until it stops, then separate the hose and tube assembly from the actuator cylinder.



5. Installation is performed in the reverse order of dismantling the components. Use a new bolt. Before installing the slave cylinder into the gearbox housing, lubricate the area (and in the illustration) bushings with lithium grease. Also lightly lubricate the contact surface of the actuator rod with the clutch release lever with copper grease.
