1. The fuel delivery module installation details are shown in the illustrations. The removal and installation procedure is given using the example of front-wheel drive petrol models with 4-cylinder TFSI engines and 6-cylinder FSI engines.

2. Make sure the tank is no more than 3/4 full. Pump out the fuel if necessary.

3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery (see Chapter 5).

4. On Sedan models, remove the trim panel in the luggage compartment and, if necessary, fold the right seatback forward.

5. On Station Wagon models, remove the left rear seatback, left cargo area trim panel and mudguard.

6. Remove the service hole cover mounting bolts (see illustration 11.6) and take it off.

7. Disconnect the connector (see illustration).

8. Mark the server (1 in the illustration) and return (3) fuel pipes, as well as the fuel line of the independent heater (2). Disconnect the specified fuel lines.

9. Unscrew the retaining ring using the T10202 tool (see illustration) and pull the fuel delivery module out slightly.

10. Slide the flange to the side. On models with independent heating, pull out the suction tube (2 in the illustration) from the tank and disconnect it. Disconnect the feed tube (1) from the suction jet pump through the gap between the flange and the service port. Squeeze the clamps (arrows) of the jet pump and remove it. Remove the fuel supply module, preventing the sensor lever from bending.

11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of dismantling the components. Before tightening the retaining ring, install the flange so that its protrusion (2 in the illustration) was located between the marks (1 and 3) on the fuel tank.
