Note: The headlight washer fluid supply nozzles are not adjustable. If the washer fluid supply from the nozzles is uneven, they should be replaced (see Chapter 12).

1. A needle can be used to adjust the direction of the windshield or rear window washer jets. The nozzle adjustment dimensions are shown in the illustrations.

2. Over time, road film accumulates on windshield wiper blades, reducing their effectiveness, so the blades should be washed regularly in a mild cleaning solution.

3. Wiper blade assemblies should be inspected regularly. If inspection reveals hardening or cracks in the blade rubber, replace them. If inspection reveals nothing unusual, wet the windshield and operate the wipers briefly. Uneven marks from the blades or streaks on clean glass indicate that the blades should be replaced.

4. If the wipers do not clean the glass well enough, the reason for this may be wax particles getting on it when the car passes through an automatic car wash. These particles can be removed by using a detergent with wax-dissolving properties as an additive to the washer fluid.

5. To remove the windshield wiper blade, move the corresponding lever away from the glass and, holding it with one hand, press the button with the other hand (And in the illustration) and remove the brush.

6. To install the wiper blade, align it with the clips (A and B in the illustration) and press the button (C) to lock.

Note: The fasteners (A) are only available on the driver's side.

7. In the neutral position, the windscreen wiper arms should be positioned as shown in the accompanying illustrations. To adjust the position of the corresponding arm, loosen its mounting nut (see Chapter 12), move the lever on the axle and tighten the nut to the required force (see Specifications).

7.7a. Windscreen wiper lever position: a = 24 mm, b = 44 mm
