The gearbox receives torque from the engine via a conventional dry clutch equipped with an automatic wear compensator. The gearbox has a sealed design and is filled with transmission oil that does not require replacement.
Manual and automatic transmissions (AT) can be removed without removing the engine. Removal is necessary if the clutch of a manual transmission is being replaced or if the transmission is being repaired or replaced with a new one. It is not recommended to repair the transmission at home. Only the process of removing the transmission is described here.
