Warning: Vehicles with a pre-set cooling system do not have a conventional thermostat.
Withdrawal
1. Drain the coolant.
2. Disconnect the lower coolant hose from the connecting pipe (2). First open the clamp and slide it fully back.
3. Turn out bolts (1) and remove the connecting pipe with thermostat (4).
4. Turn the thermostat 90°to the left and remove it from the connection pipe.
Installation
1. Be sure to replace seals and o-rings.
2. Clean sealing surfaces.
3. Insert thermostat (4) with new sealing ring (3) into the connection pipe (2) and rotate 90°to the right.
Caution: The thermostat clamps must be nearly vertical.
4. Insert the connecting pipe with the thermostat into the cylinder block and secure it with a torque 15 Nm.
5. Fill the system with coolant, refer to Section Checking the engine with a vacuum gauge.
