Withdrawal
1. Mark the direction of rotation on the tire. Loosen the wheel bolts. Raise and support the front of the car and remove the wheel.
2. Remove the bolt (1).
3. Loosen the nut (5) and remove the bolt (2).
Warning: Do not expand the slot in the wheel bearing housing with a chisel or similar tool.
Warning: Do not use a chisel or any similar tool to remove the tie rod by driving it between the swing arm (1) and sealing washer (2) tie rod end. The tie rod can only be removed by pressing the end of the tip trunnion out of the steering arm or by hitting with a wooden or rubber mallet.
4. Remove steering draft down.
5. Loosen the locknut (3) and unscrew the tip from the tie rod.
6. Wipe the tie rod end and terminal hole on the wheel bearing housing.
Installation
1. Screw the tip onto the tie rod until it stops.
2. Tighten locknut (3) moment 40Nm. AUDI service stations use the VAG 1332/12 tool for this. When tightening, hold the steering rod from turning by the hexagon (4).
3. Adjust the tie rod so that the tip trunnion is in the installation position.
4. Insert the tie rod all the way into the swing arm.
Warning: Insert the tie rod into the swingarm (1) only by hand, do not press hard on the sealing washer (2) tip.
5. Insert bolt (2) and screw on a new nut (5), tighten the nut to a torque 50nm.
6. Install bolt (1) and tighten it up 7Nm.
7. Install and secure the wheel, respecting the direction of its rotation. Lower the car and only then tighten the bolts crosswise to the torque 120 Nm.
8. Measure the chassis of the car (service station work).
