This defect first manifests itself as a loud noise. If the noise occurs, for example, when turning right, then the left wheel bearing is faulty. Wheel bearings are not adjustable and must be replaced if damaged. However, this work should be left to a workshop, as bearings, rotating bearing rings, hubs and steering knuckles are manufactured to very tight tolerances, so special tools are needed to install these parts.
1. Place the car on solid ground. Grasp the top of the wheel and try to move it across the car. If the bearings are in good condition, there should be no gap.
2. If you find a gap in the front wheel bearings, ask an assistant to depress the brake pedal and repeat the check. If the gap remains, the joint is faulty.
