Installing the lock bracket in the service position (Audi A4 B6)

For some jobs, it is advisable or even necessary to move the hood lock bracket to the so-called service position. To do this, you first need to remove the front bumper. There is no need to remove the sound insulation, but the screws of the front quick-release connections must be loosened.

1. To move the lock bracket to the service position, remove engine covers 2 and 3. Unscrew the bracket and remove the air duct located between the bracket and the air filter.



2. Screw special tool 3369 into the holes on the right and left sides.





3. Loosen the mounting screws 4 and pull the lock bracket forward until the rear hole on the bracket aligns with the front threaded hole in the wing bracket.

4. Secure the lock bracket by screwing it on the left and right.



5. After bringing the lock bracket to its normal position, it is necessary to check the headlight adjustment; they may need to be adjusted.
