Installing the front cross panel in the service position (Audi A6 C5)

Remove the front bumper.

Loosen the lower guard at the front, but do not remove it.

Disconnect the air duct between the carrier part and the air filter.

Unscrew bolts 5 (Fig. 12.1) on the left and right.

1 - front cross panel,
2 - bolts, 10 Nm,
3 - bolts, 50 Nm,
4 - bolts, 50 Nm,
5 - bolts, 50 Nm,
3369 - special tool for preparation for service

Note. If you do not have this tool, you can use two M8x90 bolts. Place washers with an outer diameter of 24 mm and a thickness of 2 mm under the bolt heads. In addition, you will also need two sleeves 800 mm long and 17 mm in diameter.


Screw the special tool AUDI-3369 or prepared bolts into the holes of both bolts, see instructions for Figure 12.1.

Unscrew the fastening bolts 2 (Fig. 12.1) on the left and right.

Unscrew fastening bolts 3 and 4 (Fig. 12.1).
Pull the front cross panel forward until the lower hole in the cross panel 1 (Fig. 12.3) covers the front threaded hole in the wing shelf. In this position, secure the supporting part on the left and right with bolts 2 (Fig. 12.3).
