The models described in this manual are equipped with electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmissions. The design of the gearbox includes a torque converter and a planetary gearbox.
Mode selection is carried out by means of a seven-position selector lever mounted on the floor in the cabin. The following provisions are provided: R (Park - parking), R (Reverse - reverse), N (Neutral-neutral position), D (Drh / e - all forward gears are included), 3 (gear shifting occurs no higher than third), 2 (gear shifting occurs no higher than the second), 1 (first gear engaged). The gearbox is equipped with a system "kickdown", which includes a lower gear when you press the accelerator pedal all the way.
The operation of the automatic transmission is controlled by the electronic control unit (BEU) and does not require manual intervention in adjustments. Qualified troubleshooting is possible only with the help of specialized diagnostic equipment.
Due to the complexity of the design, any work on the repair and maintenance of automatic transmissions should be entrusted to the dealer. The information available in the following paragraphs contains only a description of the procedure for removing the entire gearbox. The procedure for removing, installing and adjusting the gear selector cable is also described.
