Mode of action
Unfortunately, many types of checks are not available to the amateur due to the lack of necessary control devices. However, there is still a certain scope for activity.
The control unit cannot be checked by amateur means. But even in practice, defects in this area rarely occur. Sensors, switches and wire connections give rise to complaints much more often.
Therefore, if a defect occurs, it is recommended to proceed as follows:
- Are all fuses related to injection (No. 28, 29, 32 and 34) OK?
- Make sure the ignition is OK.
- Check the fuel supply.
- Perform a visual inspection of the injection system components.
- If the above checks do not find the source of the problem, refer to the section at the end of this chapter Help with malfunctions, identify possible sources of malfunctions, check the suspicious unit according to the instructions.
- If this does not lead to success, read the control unit computer in the workshop as part of the car diagnostics. But this is only possible if the battery has not been disconnected before. Otherwise, the information in the memory device is completely erased.
