Mode of action
Unfortunately, many types of checks are not available to the amateur due to the lack of the necessary control devices. Nevertheless, there is still a certain field for activity.
The control unit cannot be checked by amateur means. But in practice, defects in this area rarely occur. Incomparably more often cause for complaints are sensors, switches and wire connections.
Therefore, if a defect occurs, it is recommended to proceed as follows:
- Are all fuses related to injection OK? (No. 28, 29, 32 and 34)?
- Make sure the ignition is good.
- Check fuel supply.
- Carry out a visual inspection of the injection system components.
- If the above checks do not find the source of the problem, refer to the section at the end of this chapter Help with malfunctions, identify possible sources of malfunction, check the suspicious node according to the instructions.
- If this does not work, have the control unit computer in the workshop as part of the vehicle diagnosis. But this is only possible if the battery has not been disconnected before. Otherwise, the information in the storage device is completely erased.
