Execution order
1. Check the condition of the rubber brackets for brittleness, cracks or other damage, replace if necessary.
2. Check the strength of the screw connections of the inlet pipe and turbocharger (30 Nm) and the fastening on the gearbox (25 Nm), but do not do this by force.
3. Cover the muffler with a rag in your hand while the engine is running. After a short time, the engine should stop.
4. If you hear hissing sounds and the engine continues to run, then the system is not sealed at the location of the hissing.
5. A duller than normal exhaust note and clicking noises when shifting gears indicate a corroded exhaust system.
6. The exhaust system is at risk of corrosion, especially in the connecting seams. If this area can withstand a light tap with a screwdriver, it will hold up for some time.

The arrows show the screw connections of the knee of the inlet pipe to the cylinder head of the engine with a working volume of 1.6 liters.
