When working on the turbocharger, it is necessary to maintain the strictest cleanliness. Clean all removed parts thoroughly and place them on a clean lining. Cover open parts to prevent dirt from getting in. Install only clean new parts. Do not use compressed air or move the vehicle when working on the turbocharger.

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. Disconnect the air hose from the turbocharger and air filter.

3. Remove the upper part of the air filter.

4. Disconnect the low pressure hose from the mechanical EGR valve.

5. Remove the air hose connecting the turbocharger and the intake manifold.

6. Remove the lower part of the air filter housing.

7. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the turbocharger by unscrewing the four nuts.

8. Disconnect the oil supply line together with the holder from the turbocharger.

9. Disconnect the return oil line from the turbocharger.

10. Unscrew, working from below, the bolts securing the turbocharger to the exhaust manifold. To do this, you will need a 12 mm bent socket wrench.

11. When disconnecting the turbocharger, support it and then remove it by pushing it upwards.

Installation

12. Replace the turbocharger mounting bolts and nuts with new ones.

13. Lubricate the threads and mating surfaces of the heads of the turbocharger mounting bolts to the exhaust manifold flange with G 000 500 grease.

14. Secure the turbocharger with bolts and nuts so that it can be moved if necessary.

15. Install the four turbocharger mounting bolts onto the exhaust manifold and tighten them to the specified torque.

16. Tighten the nuts securing the inlet pipe to the turbocharger.

17. Pour some fresh engine oil into the turbocharger oil feed pipe connection before connecting the oil pipe.

18. Start the engine and let it idle for at least one minute. Do not accelerate the engine to maximum speed immediately after installing the turbocharger, because it takes time to ensure sufficient lubrication of the turbocharger parts.
