If the engine speed is less than 2000 rpm and at the same time the oil pressure is less than 0.3 bar, the control lamp on the control panel starts to flash. At engine speeds less than 2000 rpm, the oil pressure must be at least 1.8 bar (for a diesel engine 1 A bar; turbodiesel engine - 0.9 bar). Otherwise, the control lamp starts flashing and an audible signal appears.
If the indicator light flashes and a sound signal sounds while driving, the reasons for this may be:
- Oil level too low.
- Malfunction in the electrical circuit of the sensor and indicator lamp.
- Oil pump malfunction.
- Damage to crankshaft bearings.
In this case, it is necessary to immediately stop the engine and check the oil level. After that, let the engine idle. The control lamp should not blink. Increase the speed above 2000 rpm, while the lamp should not blink and there should be no sound signal. If these conditions are met, then you can continue the trip.
If the oil level is OK and there is no way to check it further, do not continue driving under any circumstances. The car should be towed to a location and the lubrication system should be checked
If the oil pressure is within the specified limits, check the electrical circuit. If no damage is found, replace the oil pressure control relay.
