If the engine speed is less than 2000 rpm and at the same time the oil pressure is less than 0.3 bar, the control lamp on the control panel starts flashing. At engine speeds below 2000 rpm, the oil pressure must be at least 1.8 bar (for diesel engine 1 A bar; turbodiesel engine - 0.9 bar). Otherwise, the control lamp will flash and an audible signal will sound.
If the warning lamp flashes while driving and an audible signal sounds, the reasons for this may be:
- Oil level too low.
- Malfunction in an electric chain of the gauge and a control lamp.
- Oil pump malfunction.
- Damage to crankshaft bearings.
In this case, it is necessary to immediately stop the engine and check the oil level. After that, let the engine idle. The control lamp should not flash. Increase the speed above 2000 rpm, while the lamp should not flash and there should be no sound signal. If these conditions are met, then you can continue the trip.
If the oil level is OK, and there is no possibility for further checking, in no case should you continue the trip. Tow the car into place and check the lubrication system
If the oil pressure is within the specified limits. check the electrical circuit. If no damage is found, replace the oil pressure switch.
