1. Jack up the vehicle from the front or rear and support it on axle stands. Remove the wheel.
2. Rotate the disk to examine its condition. Light wear is acceptable, but if it is excessive, the disc must be removed and replaced, or reground within the specified limits. To ensure uniform braking, both front or both rear brake discs must be replaced or reground at the same time.
3. Remove the front or rear caliper and suspension as described in Chapter 4 or 11. Do not disconnect the hydraulic hose, wire the caliper to the coil spring.
4. Remove the brake pads, then check the thickness of the disc with a micrometer in several places (photo). If it is worn to the specified minimum thickness, both front or both rear discs must be replaced or reground together.
5. Turn off the screw and remove a brake disk from a nave.
6. Install in reverse order, but make sure that the mating surfaces of the hub and disc are clean.
