Note: AdBlue is designed to reduce nitrogen oxide concentrations in exhaust gases of diesel models equipped with a selective oxide catalyst (SCR). The nitrogen oxides are broken down into nitrogen and water. This liquid (purified 32.5% urea solution) may cause irritation to skin, eyes and respiratory system, and may damage paintwork and trim. If you come into contact with this liquid, wash it off with plenty of water. Crystallized AdBlue liquid should be removed from the car body using a sponge and warm water. Do not add AdBlue to fuel - it is intended for injection into the exhaust system.
1. To fill the AdBlue fluid, you will need the VAS6542 filling device (see illustration).
14.1. Details of the filling device VAS6542:
1. Connection for container ventilation;
2. Container union nut;
3. Valve on the ventilation line (open when the lever is positioned along the vent line);
4. Quick-release connection on the ventilation line;
5. Filling line;
6. Tap on the filling line (open when the lever is positioned along the filling line);
7. Union nut for the filler neck;
8. Ventilation line.
For more convenient holding of the ventilation line, it can be rotated 360°.
2. Open the "AdBlue" fluid reservoir cap (next to the fuel filler cap) and clean its filler neck with a damp, lint-free cloth. Connect the filling device to the container with AdBlue liquid and place the container approximately 60-80 cm above the filler neck. Connect the filling device to the filler neck (see illustration).

3. Open the vent line valve and then the valve on the fill line. The tank is considered full when the container is significantly compressed and the filler neck is filled with liquid. If the container empties before the fill is complete, use a new container. After filling, close the fill line valve and then the vent line valve.
4. Disconnect the quick-release coupling on the vent line and allow excess fluid to drain into a prepared container.
Note: Excess liquid must not be reused; they should be disposed of.
When fluid stops flowing from the vent line, remove the filler cap from the reservoir, clean the filler neck with a damp, lint-free cloth, and close the reservoir.
5. Remove the container with AdBlue liquid from the stand and lower it to the floor. Open the fill line valve and allow any remaining fluid to drain back into the container. Disconnect the filler device from the container. To clean the filling device, rinse it under running water with both lines taps open.
6. After refilling, the system should be adapted so that it determines the new liquid level in the tank. To do this, connect the diagnostic tool (see Chapter 5), select the car model, enter the list of functions, select "Engine electronics＞Adapting learnt values for tank for reducing agent" and follow the instructions provided.
