Attention! If a failure of the clutch master or slave cylinders is suspected, it is necessary to check their functioning before proceeding with their dismantling.
To provide access to the clutch master cylinder, it is recommended to dismantle the fairing. The engine control unit can also be moved to the side without disconnecting the plugs from it.
Withdrawal
1. Disconnect the wire terminal «masses» (-) from the battery.
2. Remove the relay block located next to the engine control unit by depressing the retaining leashes (see arrows in illustration), and remove the wires from the mounting groove together with the sleeve.
3. Unscrew fastening bolts and remove a tray of the block of management of the engine.
4. Clamp with a suitable clamp, for example, AUDI-3094, brake fluid hose A on the reservoir and disconnect it from the brake master cylinder (see illustration). Plug the hose opening with a suitable plug.
3.4. Clamp the hose A of the brake fluid on the reservoir with a suitable clamp and disconnect it from the brake master cylinder
5. Pry with a screwdriver and remove the clip C, which holds the pipeline B on the main brake cylinder, remove the clip and disconnect the pipeline (see illustration 3.4).
6. Remove the stowage pocket above the footwell on the driver's side.
7. Remove the fixing clip 1, remove the connecting pin with which the pusher of the main brake cylinder / vacuum booster is attached to the brake pedal (see arrow 2 in illustration), and disconnect the pusher.
3.7. Remove the fixing clip 1 and remove the connecting pin with which the pusher of the master brake cylinder / vacuum booster is attached to the brake pedal (see arrow 2)
Attention! Remove, if equipped, the clutch pedal sensor.
8. Unscrew the fastening bolt and remove the support bracket together with the pedals after disconnecting the master cylinder pusher from the clutch pedal.
9. Unscrew bolts of fastening of the main cylinder of coupling and remove it.
Installation
Installation of the clutch master cylinder is carried out in the reverse order of its removal.
10. Bleed the clutch hydraulic after installing the master cylinder.
11. Install the clutch pedal position sensor. It is recommended to install a new pedal sensor. Only one reuse of the sensor is allowed.
12. Make sure that the clutch pedal position sensor 1 is installed correctly. The sensor must fit snugly on the pedal 3, and the distance «A» between the clamp and the 2-pedal support bracket, as well as the offset «b» sensor plunger should not be more than 0.5 mm. In order to adjust the specified offsets, the sensor must be rotated while holding the clamps (see illustration).
