Petrol engines:
- 1 - ignition off/engine not running, steering wheel may be locked.
- 2 - ignition on.
- 3 - engine start.
Diesel engines:
- 1 - fuel supply is cut off, engine is not running, steering wheel may be locked.
- 2 - Preheating. When preheating, do not turn on powerful consumers of the on-board network, so as not to overload the battery.
- 3 - engine start.
Recommendations for all vehicles:
To lock the steering wheel, remove the key from the lock and turn the steering wheel until it is heard to lock. On vehicles with an automatic transmission, the key can only be turned to position 1 and removed when the control lever is in position "P".
Attention! On cars with a manual transmission, remove the key from the ignition only after the car has come to a complete stop! Otherwise, the steering wheel may lock unintentionally.
If the key in the ignition switch turns with difficulty or does not turn at all, then the steering wheel should be turned slightly from side to side to unlock it.
When attempting to start the engine again, the ignition key should be returned to position 1.
The engine restart interlock in the ignition switch prevents damage to the starter and eliminates the engagement of its gear with the flywheel ring gear when the engine is already running.
