1. Release bearing with rocker ring: check; do not rinse, just wipe; replace bearings that make a loud noise; the bearing mounting tabs must be secured in the clutch release lever. Lubricate the mating surfaces of the clutch release lever with solid lubricant -G 000 150-. If present, remove grease from the support point of the guide sleeve - the mount on the guide sleeve is not lubricated.
2. Clutch release lever: remove any remaining grease from the clutch release lever, re-lubricate the release bearing support point "arrow A" with solid lubricant paste -G 000 150-.
3. Spring latch: hang on the clutch release lever.
4. Intermediate element; if damaged, replace.
5. Ball joint: 25 Nm; lubricate the clutch release lever pivot point "arrow B" with clutch driven disc spline grease -G 000 100-.
6. KP.
7. Clutch slave cylinder: after removal, do not press the clutch pedal; follow the procedure for releasing air; when installing, press down so that the mounting screw can be installed.
8. Guide bushing: remove (if available) grease from the guide sleeve - fitting the release bearing with the rocking pressure ring on the guide sleeve without grease.
9. Bolt: 8 Nm, 2 pcs.; install with thread locking agent -AMV 185101 A1-.

Checking the release bearing

Checking the release bearing

The oblique thrust ring of release bearing "1" may have axial clearance and radial runout. The oblique thrust ring "1" in the release bearing "3" can be deflected in all directions (floating function). Traces of wear "arrow 2" on the oblique thrust ring "1" deeper than 0.8 mm - the clutch release bearing "3" must be replaced. The beveled thrust washer is practically not secured if the clutch release bearing is not in contact with the clutch.

Release bearing lubrication

Lack of lubrication in the support areas of the clutch release bearing "arrow" can lead to a cracking sound when the clutch is engaged. Apply a sufficient amount of solid grease -G 000 150- to the clutch release bearing "arrow" supports. Remove grease from the guide sleeve support point - degreased fastening on the guide sleeve.

Removal and installation the clutch release lever together with the release bearing and guide sleeve

Remove clutch release lever "1" with release bearing "2" and retaining spring "3". Unscrew bolts "4" and remove guide sleeve "5". If present, remove old grease from clutch release lever, release bearing "2" and guide sleeve "5".

Installation

Clean guide bushing "5" and install. Clean the threads of bolts "4" with a wire brush. Apply thread sealant -AMV 185101 A1- to the bolts, install them and tighten to the specified torque. Fix the clutch release bearing "2" and the retaining spring "3" in the clutch release lever "1" and install them together.
