Used Airbag Installation Review
1. Used Airbag "J234": connection of the used one to the ground is carried out through the housing with the body.
2. Nut: 3 pcs.; 9 Nm; the threads must be cleaned of varnish and dirt, the ground nut and bolt serve as a connection between the used part and the ground.
3. Electrical plug connection.
4. Mounting pins: the threads must be cleaned of varnish and dirt, the nut and bolt of the ground serve as a connection of the used one to the ground.
Battery disconnector
1. Electrical plug connection: battery disconnector "N253".
2. Nut: 15 Nm.
3. Battery disconnecting pyropatron "N253": supplied only together with "pos. 4".
4. Fuse box A "SA": supplied only together with "pos. 3".
5. Fuse holder cover A "SA".
6. Positive terminal.
Removal and installation the battery disconnecting squib "N253"
Note: If the airbag warning light comes on after an accident. "K75" lights up, use the Tester to check whether the collision data has been saved. If the data is saved, check whether the fault memory entry for the "N253" battery disconnect device igniter item has been entered as "001 Resistance too high." If this entry is present, replace the "N253" battery disconnect device. The "N253" battery disconnect device opens the electrical circuit each time the airbag is triggered. The "N253" battery disconnect device must be replaced after one of its components has been triggered. The "N253" battery disconnect igniter is supplied as a spare part only with the A "SA" fuse holder. To replace the "N253" battery disconnect igniter separately, it can be removed as a spare part and installed on the existing A "SA" fuse holder, as described below:
Turn on the ignition. Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition on. Remove the on-board tool mount. Unscrew nuts "2" and "3".

Release the retaining spring "3". Lift the cover "2" above the fuse holder A "SA" "arrow" and simultaneously remove the battery disconnecting igniter. Ignore "Pos. 1".

Remove the pyrotechnic battery disconnector cartridge "4". Disconnect the plug connection "1"; to do this, unlock the retainer "5" "arrow".
Installation
Installation in reverse order. Please note that the plug connections must be inserted all the way until they click into place. Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition on. Finally, request the event memory of the used Airbag "J234" and, if necessary, process the error.
