Camber adjustment
1. The camber cannot be adjusted, but by moving the subframe, the camber can be set symmetrically within the tolerance.
2. Remove the sound insulation.
3. Loosen the bolts (1-8 in the illustration).
24.3. Subframe mounting bolts
4. Using a plastic covered pry bar, move the subframe to the desired position as per Specifications.
24.4. Centering the subframe
5. Tighten the bolts (7 and 8 in Illustration 24.3), then bolts (5 and 6), and finally bolts (1-4).
6. Install soundproofing.
Adjusting the convergence curve
7. The compression and rebound movements of the front wheels affect the toe-in value as a function of the compression/rebound stroke. As a result, the toe-in values are presented as a toe-in curve.
8. The change in the "S" value is adjusted with the vehicle raised by vertically moving the steering rod end.
9. Electronic wheel alignment equipment determines the "S" value by comparing one value measured with the suspension in its initial position with one measured with the vehicle lifted. The equipment compares the current values with the required values and displays them on the display. Incorrectly set toe-in values cause steering deviations during braking/acceleration or when driving on rough roads. The following describes how to adjust the "S" value.
10. Loosen the nut (And in the illustration), remove the bolt (B) and screw in a new bolt approximately 4 mm. Press the tie rod end down until it stops. Do not use a chisel or the like to press the tie rod end to avoid damaging the joint boot.
24.10. Adjusting the value of "S"
11. Screw in the bolt (In the illustration 24.10) until the required value is obtained (see Specifications). Tighten the nut (A) and check the adjustment. Tighten the bolt (B). Lower the car to its original position and rock the suspension. Recheck the toe-in curve and readjust if necessary.
Convergence adjustment
12. Loosen the locknut (In the illustration) and adjust the toe-in by turning the rod by the flats (A). If the boot is twisted, immediately turn it.
24.12. Convergence adjustment
13. Tighten the lock nut and check the toe-in.
