In the case of the upper covers, this is done relatively easily. The screws and clamps loosen quite quickly. It is more difficult to dismantle the lower engine cover - the main sound insulation. The cover is designed approximately the same in all engines, but in this case you cannot do without installing the car on trestles. If you intend, for example, to change the coolant or oil, then you cannot do without removing the cover from the lower side of the engine.
1. The top cover of the ALZ 1.6L engine consists of two parts (1 and 2). These parts are held in place by spring clips and can be removed (carefully!) remove upwards.
The ALZ 1.6L engine cover consists of two parts (1 and 2). For most work, part 1 must be removed
2. To remove the bottom cover (soundproofing) place the vehicle on jack stands, taking appropriate precautions. Loosen the locking screws at the points indicated by the arrows.
To remove the bottom cover (soundproofing) in AZL engines, 12 locking screws must be loosened
3. If you need to remove the front sound insulation holder (arrow), loosen three more screws.
When removing the lower cover of the ALZ, it is necessary to unscrew the soundproofing cover holder (arrow)
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Place and fasten the upper covers. Screw on the lower engine cover and lower the car.
ALT and AVJ engines
1. The top cover of the ALT 2.0L and AVJ 1.8L engines is screwed on. To remove it, you need to loosen three bolts (or nuts).

ASN engines
1. The upper casing of the six-cylinder V-engine ASN 3.0 l consists of three parts. During many works it is necessary to remove the cover 1 on the right side of the engine compartment (clamps).

4. When removing the bottom cover (sound insulation; put the car on the trestle!) please note whether the vehicle is equipped with an independent heater. If such a heater is installed, first remove the heater pipe screws (arrows) on the soundproof cover.

5. After this, unscrew the locking screws and remove the bottom cover.
