In the case of top covers, this is relatively easy to do. The screws and clamps loosen quite quickly. It is more difficult to dismantle the lower engine cover - the main soundproofing. The cover is arranged approximately the same in all engines, however, in this case, one cannot do without installing the car on the goats. If you intend, for example, to change the coolant or oil, then removing the cover from the underside of the engine is indispensable.
1. The top cover of the ALZ engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters consists of two parts (1 and 2). These parts are held in place by spring clips and can be (carefully!) remove up.
The ALZ engine cover with a working volume of 1.6 liters consists of two parts (1 and 2). In the production of most works, you have to shoot part 1
2. To remove the bottom cover (soundproofing) mount the vehicle on trestles, observing the appropriate precautions. Loosen the locking screws at the points indicated by the arrows.
To remove the bottom cover (soundproofing) on AZL engines, 12 locking screws must be loosened
3. If you need to remove the front holder (arrow) sound insulation, loosen three more screws.
When removing the bottom cover of the ALZ, it is necessary to unscrew the holder of the soundproof cover (arrow)
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Install and fasten the top covers. Screw on the bottom cover of the engine and lower the car.
ALT and AVJ engines
1. The top cover of the ALT 2.0l and AVJ 1.8l engines is screwed on. In order to remove it, you need to loosen three bolts (or nuts).

ASN engines
1. The upper casing of the 3.0L ASN 6-cylinder V-engine consists of three parts. When performing many works, it is necessary to remove cover 1 on the right side of the engine compartment (clamps).

4. Removing the bottom cover (soundproofing; put the car on the goats!) it must be taken into account whether the car is equipped with an independent heater. If such a heater is installed, first unscrew the screws of the heater pipe on the soundproof cover (arrows).

5. After that, unscrew the locking screws and remove the bottom cover.

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Place the top covers and fasten or screw them. Screw on the bottom cover of the engine (if necessary, also a holder for the soundproof cover) and lower the car.
