1. Raise the front of the vehicle on both sides and secure it from falling or slipping using jack stands.
2. The wheels must be straight.
3. Ask an assistant to turn the steering wheel first one way and then the other (approximately 30° from the centerline). If the play in the steering is too great, you will hear knocking.
4. Carefully turn the adjusting screw (arrow) into the cover until no noise is heard in the passenger compartment.

5. Then perform a test drive. After maneuvering or turning, the steering should return to its original position without jamming. If this does not happen, correct the adjustment. After completing the adjustment, lock the adjusting nut with a punch.
