1. The fuel filter is located to the left of the engine, behind the generator. Wipe away any dirt around it to prevent it from getting into the fuel system.
2. Place a suitable container under the filter. For better access, remove the high-pressure air duct from the intercooler by loosening the clamp and unscrewing the mounting bolt.
3. Unscrew the clamp nut and remove the filter from the bracket together with the hoses.
4. Attach a belt tool for removing oil filters to the fuel filter, unscrew the Allen key at the base of the bleeder screw with a 17 mm head or open-end wrench. Unscrew the filter from the head. Note: do not use pliers to hold the head, so as not to damage the head.
5. Remove the plastic insert from the old filter, then insert it into the new filter.
6. Lubricate the seal of the new filter with a layer of diesel fuel, fill the filter with fuel. This will help speed up the engine start.
7. Screw in the new filter, holding the head and tighten it with hand force only.
8. Insert the filter into the mounting bracket and secure it by tightening the clamp nut.
9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
