Removal
1. Remove the disc/hub as described in paragraph 9.
2. Unscrew the brake shield mounting bolts and remove it together with the axle (fig. 10.2, a, 6).

3. A worn or damaged axle must be replaced.
Installation
4. Make sure the mating surfaces are clean. Remove any interfering burrs with a file or sandpaper.
5. Install the brake shield with the axle and secure with bolts. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque in a diagonal sequence (Fig. 10.5).
6. Install the hub/disc as described in paragraph 9.
