Constant control
1. In the Audi A4, a low brake fluid level is also indicated by a warning light on the dashboard, but you should still not give up visual inspection:
2. Open the hood and wipe the brake fluid reservoir with a rag.
3. In the transparent expansion tank, the brake fluid level should be between the "min" and "max" marks. In this case, everything is fine.
Brake fluid level too low?
If the disc brake pads are already slightly worn, then a tendency for the fluid level to drop to the lower mark is visible; if they are new, then the fluid level again exceeds the upper mark. This is a completely normal phenomenon, since with worn linings, the pistons of the disc brake, which have moved out a little further, leave a larger volume in the brake caliper cylinders, which is filled with brake fluid. The situation becomes critical when the brake fluid level in the reservoir drops below the "min" mark. Since it does not evaporate or is not consumed, that is, the leakage point. Quickly find out the cause before the brake pedal fails! Topping up will be eye-wash!
