Constant control
1. First, test full braking at walking speed.
2. Based on the rubber marks on the road, including if ABS is present, you will see whether the brakes hold equally.
3. Perform the same check on the handbrake.
4. To test the brakes at higher speeds, you need a level road.
5. At a speed of approximately 50 km/h, with the steering wheel released but your hands at the ready, brake the car gently at first and then sharply until it comes to a complete stop.
6. When you press the pedal hard, you will feel the anti-lock system pulsating.
7. If the car pulls to one side, then something is wrong with the brakes, ABS or chassis. You can find out about possible causes at the end of the chapter in the section Help with malfunctions.
8. Let the Audi roll down a slight incline to determine if the wheels move freely.
9. After the test drive, perform a hand check:
10. Is the rim on one side of the car warmer than the other side?
11. The cause may be a seized brake caliper or defective wheel bearings.
