Constant control
1. Test full braking at walking speed first.
2. According to the traces of rubber prints on the road, including the presence of ABS, you will see if the brakes hold the same.
3. Carry out the same handbrake test.
4. To perform a brake test at higher speeds, you need a level road.
5. At a speed of approximately 50 km/h with the steering wheel released, but with hands at the ready, brake the vehicle gently at first and then abruptly to a complete stop.
6. When you press the pedal hard, you will feel the pulsation of the anti-lock system.
7. If the car pulls to the side, then something is wrong in the brakes, in the ABS or in the chassis. Possible causes can be found at the end of the chapter under Help with malfunctions.
8. Let the Audi roll down a slight incline to see if the wheels move smoothly.
9. After the test drive, check by hand:
10. Is the rim on one side of the car warmer than the other side?
11. The cause may be a seized brake caliper or defective wheel bearings.
