The engine oil consumption should be 1.0 liters per 1000 kilometers of the vehicle. Increased oil consumption indicates wear on the oil seals or oil scraper piston rings.
Park the vehicle on a level surface and warm up the engine.
Stop the engine and wait three minutes for the oil to drain into the sump.
Remove the oil dipstick and wipe it with a clean rag (see fig. 1.8).
Then reinsert the dipstick and remove it again.
The oil level is normal if it is in zone b (pic. 1.7). If the oil level is in the area with (pic. 1.7), adding approximately one liter more oil level will rise to the maximum level on the dipstick.
If the oil level is above mark a (more than normal) pump it out, as otherwise the crankshaft sealing rings and the catalyst will be damaged.
Before traveling long distances, the oil level should be near mark a (pic. 1.7).
Remove the oil filler cap and add the required amount of oil.
Reinstall the oil filler cap and dipstick.
