Place the car on a level horizontal surface and warm up the engine.
Turn off the engine and wait three minutes for the oil to drain into the pan.
Remove the oil dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth (see fig. 1.8).

Then reinsert the dipstick and remove it again.
The oil level is normal if it is in zone b (Fig. 1.7). If the oil level is in zone c (Fig. 1.7), adding about another liter will raise the oil level to the maximum on the dipstick.

If the oil level is above mark A (more than normal) pump it out, otherwise the crankshaft sealing rings and catalytic converter will be damaged.
Before long-distance travel, the oil level should be around the A mark (Fig. 1.7).
Remove the oil filler cap and add the required amount of oil.
Replace the oil filler cap and dipstick.
