Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Remove ignition coil cover.
Disconnect ignition coil connectors. To do this, on a 5-cylinder engine, unscrew the fixing bolt of the cover and fold it to the side.
If the plug -arrow- on the ignition coil is pressed out, the ignition coil must be replaced.
Check the coil for microcracks, otherwise replace.
Check the primary resistance of the coil by connecting an ohmmeter to terminals 1 and 15.
Check the secondary resistance of the coil by connecting a voltmeter to terminals 15 and 4.
Connect the electrical wires to the coil.
Put on the cover.
Connect the ground cable to the battery.
Attention: if the ignition coil is replaced, in no case should the coil be installed for the previous breaker-controlled system, this will damage the control device.
