After replacing the power steering fluid or steering gear
1. Fill the power steering fluid reservoir completely and raise the vehicle so that the wheels do not touch the ground.
2. With the engine off, turn the steering wheel 10 times from lock to lock.
3. Fill the reservoir completely again and run the engine for about 2 seconds. Do not turn the steering wheel during this time to prevent the power steering pump from starting and introducing air. Repeat this procedure until the fluid level in the reservoir stops dropping. Wait at least 30 seconds between each engine start.
4. With the engine off, turn the steering wheel 10 times from lock to lock. Fill the reservoir completely again, start the engine and turn the steering wheel 10 times from edge to edge. Check the power steering fluid level.
5. The remaining air will dissipate after 10-20 km of driving.
After replacing one or more steering components other than the steering gear (pump, hoses, etc.)
6. Fill the reservoir completely and run the engine for about 2 seconds. Do not turn the steering wheel during this time to prevent the power steering pump from starting and introducing air. Repeat this procedure until the fluid level in the reservoir stops dropping. Wait at least 30 seconds between each engine start. 7. Run the engine for 2-3 minutes without turning the steering wheel. The remaining air will dissipate after 10-20 km of driving.
