Removing circulation pump -V55-
Note. Circulation pump V55-controlled, depending on the set. vehicle, also from the additional control unit. heater -J364-, if a request has been sent via the data bus system from the corresponding engine control unit or control and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255-. Since the 2010 model year for this vehicle, the start/stop system is offered for certain engines as an additional option. kit. On such vehicles, take into account the correct design of the climate control and display panel, the installation of the Climatronic control unit -J255- and the auxiliary heater. On vehicles with an engine start-stop system, the circulation pump V55 of the auxiliary heater receives control signals from the auxiliary control unit during the stop function. heater -J364-. The switching request -J364- comes from the climate control and display unit, the Climatronic control unit -J255- via the data bus -V55-. The circulation pump -V55- is connected to the hose connection of the auxiliary heater. When removing the circulation pump -V55-, press, loosen and disconnect the coolant hoses only on the circulation pump -V55-, so that you do not have to bleed the entire engine coolant circuit later.
Ignition (and autonomous heater) turned off. Relieve pressure in the coolant circuit by opening the expansion cap. cooling system reservoir. Remove the front right wheel. Remove the front right fender liner. Clamp coolant hoses -6- and -8- (e.g. with hose clamps 0 25 mm -3094-). Loosen the clamps -5-. Disconnect coolant hose -6- from circulation pump -V55- -2-. Loosen screw -3- and remove clamp -7-. Remove circulation pump -V55-2- from coolant hose -4-. Disconnect electrical connector -1- from circulation pump -V55- and remove circulation pump.
Installation
Installation in reverse order: a new circulation pump - V55- with an empty coolant circuit can only be switched on after the coolant circuit has been filled, since running the new pump dry can lead to its failure. Since little coolant flows out when removing the circulation pump -V55- as described above, the liquid after removing the clamps from the hoses (additionally remove the cap of the compensation tank) enters the circulation pump - V55 - quickly, so there is no danger of damaging it. Connect the electrical connector to the circulation pump -V55- only after removing the hose clamps (and filling the coolant circuit). Bleed air from the coolant recirculation circuit.
