Attention! Removing the steering knuckle is a problem in the sense that it will then be necessary to go to a workshop to adjust the camber and toe-in.
1. Loosen the wheel bolts and hub bolt with the vehicle stationary.
2. Jack up the vehicle and place it on jack stands.
3. Bleed the air from the air bellow, remove the corresponding front wheel and unscrew the hub bolt.
4. Release the ABS sensor plug from the holder on the steering knuckle.
5. Remove the brake caliper and fasten it to the body in such a way that it does not load the brake hose with its weight, see the relevant chapter.
6. Unscrew a bolt 5 of fastening of the gauge ABS (see illustration 3.6).
7. Remove the brake disc, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the brake shield (see arrows in illustration).
5.7. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the brake shield (see arrows)
8. Unscrew the bolts 3 and 4 that secure the ball joint of the tie rod end to the steering knuckle (see illustration).
5.8. Unscrew the bolts 3 and 4 fastening to the steering knuckle of the ball joint of the tie rod end
9. Disconnect the tip of the transverse steering rod from the rotary lever 1 by pressing the rod down (see illustration).
5.9. Disconnect the tie rod end from the swing arm 1 by pushing the tie rod down
Attention! It is not allowed to open the slot on the steering knuckle with a chisel or other tool, as well as to squeeze out the finger of the tip with a mount by inserting its blade between the steering knuckle and the sealing washer 2 (see illustration 5.9). In this case, the puck is damaged. If necessary, the finger can be knocked out with a wooden or rubber mallet.
10. Disconnect from a rotary fist a spherical support of the directing lever, and then the bearing lever, the corresponding chapter see.
11. Unscrew the coupling bolt 1 and disconnect both upper levers 2 from the steering knuckle (see illustration 5.8).
12. Give the steering knuckle to the side, remove the shank of the outer CV joint of the drive shaft from the hub and remove the steering knuckle. Secure the drive shaft with wire to the body so that it does not sag.
5.12. Disconnect the drive shaft from the gearbox by unscrewing the fastenings of its inner CV joint (see arrows)
Attention! When dismantling the steering knuckle, the car manufacturer recommends removing the drive shaft by unscrewing the bolts securing its inner CV joint to the gearbox (see arrows in illustration 5.12).
Installation
Installation of a rotary fist is carried out in sequence, return to its removal.
13. Contact a specialized workshop and adjust the camber and convergence of the front wheels.
