The rear suspension, like the front, has a subframe, upper wishbones, lower wishbones and an anti-roll bar.
The subframe is connected to the body by four silent blocks with spacer washers that provide the desired ground clearance (see illustrations 7.0 and 7.0b).
The shape of the upper wishbones is adapted to the air suspension strut, and the tie rods are made of forged aluminum alloy to improve rigidity. Due to the fact that the elements of the rear suspension are similar to parts of other models, in particular, with the AUDI A6 or S6, they are marked with brown paint applied as a dot to distinguish them.
Unlike other AUDI models, the diameter of the drive shafts of the ALLROAD rear wheels is increased, and the body of their outer CV joints is reinforced.
Suspension damping is provided by pneumatic suspension struts, consisting of air springs and shock absorbers (see illustration 7.0a).
