Generator without sliding bushings
1. Bolts: 23 Nm.
2. Generator.
3. Electrical plug connection.
4. Terminal 30/AKB+.
5. Plug.
6. Nut: 16 Nm.
Removal and installation the alternator - vehicles with 1.8L and 2.0L TFSI engines
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery with the ignition off. Remove the poly V-belt.
Unscrew the screws at the top and bottom of the "arrow" and tilt the generator forward.
Disconnect plug connection "1". Unscrew terminal 30/V+ "pos. 2". Remove the generator.
Installation
Installation in reverse order. Place the poly V-belt in the correct order on the pulleys.
1. Crankshaft.
2. Water pump.
3. Poly V-belt tensioner.
4. Generator.
5. Impeller pump of the steering hydraulic system.
6. Air conditioning compressor, installations.
Connect the battery. Necessary steps. Start the engine and check the belt operation.
Removal and installation the alternator - vehicles with 3.0L TFSI and 3.2L FSI engines
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery with the ignition off. Remove the sound insulation from the front by loosening fasteners "1" and "2".
Unscrew bolt "1" and nut "3". Remove spacer "2" from the radiator frame on the right.
Turn the tensioner to loosen the poly V-belt tensioner in the direction of the arrow. Remove the poly V-belt from the alternator pulley. Unload the tensioner.
Cars with automatic transmission: Unscrew the "arrow" bolt of the ATF lines.
Loosen nut "1" on the wiring holder a few turns. "Pos. 2" should not be taken into account.
Drain the coolant. Remove coolant hose "2" from the radiator by lifting the clamp. "Pos. 1" should not be taken into account. Pull the system hose. cool upwards and set aside.

Disconnect the connector of the oil level and temperature sensor "G266" and release the wiring harness on the generator. Unscrew the arrow bolts and remove the generator. Disconnect plug connection "1". Unscrew terminal 30/V+ "pos. 2".
Installation
Installation in reverse order.
Cars with automatic transmission: Secure the ATF lines. Top up the coolant.

Install the radiator frame spacer on the right. Place the poly V-belt in the indicated order on the pulleys.
1. Generator.
2. Intermediate roller.
3. Water pump.
4. Impeller pump of the steering hydraulic system.
5. Air conditioning compressor, installations.
6. Poly V-belt tensioner.
7. Crankshaft.
Connect the battery. Start the engine and check the belt operation.
