Removal and installation front door switches (Audi A4 B6)

Depending on the equipment, switches for adjusting the outside mirror, window lifter and central lock are installed in the driver's door.

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

Warning: Follow the instructions in Section Replacing the battery.


Remove the door trim, refer to Section Removal and installation the front door trim.

Outside mirror adjustment switch



1. Disconnect the switch connector (1).

2. Use a small screwdriver (arrows) to release the locking hooks and pull the outside mirror adjustment switch (2) downwards out of the door trim.

3. When installing, insert the switch cover into the armrest in front of the switch.

Two-button window lift switch



1. Loosen with a small screwdriver (arrows in the accompanying illustration) retaining hooks and pull the window switch (1) downwards from the door trim.

2. Disconnect the connector (2) of the switch (1).



Four-key window lift switch



1. Press the locking bar (arrows in the accompanying illustration) and free.

2. Use a small screwdriver (arrows) to release the locking hooks and pull the outside mirror adjustment switch (2) downwards out of the door trim.

3. Disconnect the connector (3) of the switch (2).

Single lock switch



1. Disconnect the connector (2) of the switch (1).

1. Disconnect the connector (2) of the switch (1).


2. Press the single lock switch (1) out from the door trim (arrow on the accompanying illustration).

Key in the driver's door pocket



1. Disconnect the connector of keys (1) and (2).

1. Disconnect the connector of keys (1) and (2).


2. Release the locking hooks (arrows) and push the key back out of the upholstery.



3. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
