Removal
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
Warning: Follow the instructions in Section Replacing the battery.
2. Remove the trunk lock, refer to Section Removal and installation the trunk lock.
3. Using a small screwdriver, separate the plastic plate (3) from the finger (1) and fold it back.
4. Move the contact switch (2) to the side and remove it upwards from the tailgate lock.
Installation
1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. In doing so, ensure that the support washers are correctly installed between the strip and the tailgate lock.
Warning: The contact switch on the tailgate of the Estate model cannot be removed separately and must be replaced together with the lock.
