With the Motronic ignition/injection system, no adjustment work is required, as this system is "self-learning". This means that the control unit adjusts the idle speed if necessary. The following control values apply to the idle speed: (test conditions: engine is warmed up, all electrical consumers are switched off, and the ignition timing is set correctly):
Idle speed: 820–900 rpm.
The CO content in the exhaust gases cannot be measured before the catalytic converter. Therefore, rechecking is only possible with a computer reading device.
