This limitation is a partial function of the injection, which, when the engine speed is too high, stops further increase in speed by cutting off the fuel supply. If you are surprised by interruptions in the engine operation at high speeds, this is not a defect, but a built-in self-protection of the engine. The speed limit in Audi is different for different engines:
- Four-cylinder, two-valve engine: 6500 rpm.
- Four-cylinder, five-valve engine: 6800 rpm.
- Six-cylinder engine: 6200 rpm.
