The exhaust system consists of a muffler intake pipe, front, middle and rear mufflers. Instead of the front muffler, a catalytic converter is installed in cars with a catalytic converter. The lambda probe, which is necessary for adjusting the process of optimal gas afterburning in the catalytic converter, is (oxygen sensor) screwed into the front of the catalytic converter housing.

The intake pipe is connected with bolts to the exhaust manifold mounted on the cylinder cover. All system elements are connected to each other with bolts and can be removed independently of other system elements. Self-locking nuts and gaskets must be replaced with new ones after disassembly. The retaining rings and rubber cushions are checked for mechanical damage and the presence of pores and replaced if necessary, moms When installing a new exhaust system, it is recommended to replace all system fastening elements.

The figure shows the exhaust system of a diesel engine and a 4-cylinder engine with fuel injection.
