Raise the rear of the vehicle.
Remove the rear wheel.
Knock off the cap with a rubber mallet or pry it off with a screwdriver.
Remove the cotter pin and remove the crown retainer.
Slightly loosen the hex nut and tighten it again. The play is adjusted correctly if the pressure washer can still be moved by pressing the screwdriver with your finger -arrow-. Do not rotate the screwdriver under any circumstances.
Caution: Turn the wheel when tightening the nut to prevent the bearings from seizing.
Insert the crown lock so that the cotter pin can be inserted.
Insert a new cotter pin, bend the cotter pin after installation.
Install the hub cap using a tube of the appropriate diameter, the tube should fit against the cap protrusion.
Note: moisture can penetrate through a loose cap and destroy the bearing. Therefore, even a slightly deformed cap must be replaced.
Install the rear wheel, lower the vehicle, tighten the wheel bolts crosswise to 110 Nm.
