Petrol engines

When the car is delivered by the manufacturer, the engine is filled with high-quality all-weather oil suitable for year-round use in almost all climate zones. The engine's performance and service life largely depend on the quality of the engine oil. Therefore, it is always necessary to ensure that the oil meets high standards. Today, the market is overflowing with various brands of motor oil of varying quality, and it is difficult to choose. In this regard, we recommend the following mineral or synthetic oils that we have already tested:
  • multifunctional oils specification VW-501 01
  • smooth running oils, specification VW-500 00
  • improved quality motor oil (to operate the engine at full power) specification VW-500 00 and 505 00.

improved quality motor oil (to operate the engine at full power) specification VW-500 00 and 505 00.

improved quality motor oil (to operate the engine at full power) specification VW-500 00 and 505 00.

Multifunctional oils, specifications 501 01 are the most suitable in terms of cost and have the following characteristics:

  • suitable for year-round use in regions with a moderate climate;
  • have a good cleansing effect;
  • have reliable lubricating properties at any temperature and engine load;
  • highly resistant to aging.

Easy running oils and premium quality motor oils (to operate the engine at full power) specifications 500 00 and 505 00 have some advantageous characteristics:
  • suitable for year-round use at virtually any outside air temperature;
  • eliminate the effect of resistance of rubbing parts as much as possible and, as a result, reduce engine power loss;
  • most suitable for starting a cold engine, including at very low temperatures.

In case you are unable to find these oils, API-SF specification grade can be used as an exception for a short period of time (multi- or single-functional).

It is more advisable to change the oil at service stations.

The oil viscosity class is selected according to this table. If the air temperature exceeds the specified standard degrees for a short time, oil replacement is not necessary.

When using single-function oil SAE10W or multi-function oil SAE 5 W-20 or SAE 5 W-30, try to avoid long-term operation of the engine at high speeds and under heavy load.

These restrictions do not apply to high-quality and low-friction motor oils.

Turbo diesel engines

When the vehicle is delivered from the manufacturer, the engine is filled with high-quality all-weather oil for year-round use in virtually all climatic zones.

For topping up and replacement we recommend the following mineral or synthetic oils:

  • branded oils specification VW-505 00
  • high quality motor oils specifications VW-500 00 and 505 00
  • branded oils of API-CD specification (only in exceptional cases).

Specification numbers are indicated on the container packaging. Oils can be mixed with each other.

The advantages of high quality and easy running motor oils in relation to all other brands are the same as in the previous section.

The viscosity class of the oil is selected according to this table. If the air temperature exceeds the specified standards for a short period of time, oil replacement is not necessary.

When using single-function SAE 10 W oil, try to avoid prolonged engine operation at high speeds and under maximum load.

Transmission

Transmission oil - G 50.

Differential (Audi-Quattro)

Transmission oil - API-GL 5, SAE90

Hydraulics

Hydraulic oil for Volkswagen-Audi cars - NG 002 000.

Addition of any components to oils of all types is not recommended.
