Checking the performance of the fuel pump (Audi 80 B2)

Disconnect the drain hose from the supply pressure regulator on the fuel dispenser and lower its end and the measuring cup.

Disconnect the high tension wire from the ignition coil.

Turn on the starter for about 30 seconds and measure the amount of fuel flowing into the measuring cup, which should be at least 750 cm² when using plug connectors and at least 900 cm² when using threaded connections.

Note: Replace the fuel line seals each time the fuel pump is removed. If the fuel pump does not work, first check the 16 A fuse in the fuse box.

Replace the fuel filter every 15,000 km. When installing a new filter, point the arrow on its body in the direction of fuel circulation in the system. Never blow out the fuel filter with compressed air.
