Warning: On models with ABS, disconnect the battery before starting work to prevent air from entering the ABS module.
Removal
1. Remove the front wheels.
2. To reduce brake fluid loss, remove the brake fluid reservoir cap and seal the neck tightly with plastic wrap or clamp the corresponding brake hoses.
3. Disconnect the wear sensor connector. Disconnect the brake pipe from the caliper.
4. Remove the caliper pin bolts and remove the caliper from the vehicle.
Bulkhead
1. Clean the caliper from dirt and dust.
2. Remove the piston and dust boot.
3. Remove the piston seal from the caliper cylinder.
4. Clean all components thoroughly in methylated spirits or clean brake fluid.
5. Inspect all components and replace any worn or damaged components. Replace caliper pin bushings if necessary.
6. When assembling, make sure all components are absolutely clean.
7. Lubricate the new seal and install it into the groove in the caliper cylinder.
8. Install the dust boot onto the piston and insert the piston into the caliper.
9. Install the bushings and pins.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
