Warning! Danger to life, high voltage. Before carrying out work on parts of the headlight with gas discharge lamps, marked with yellow high voltage symbols, it is necessary to disconnect the battery ground connection.

Repair kits

Removal and installation the headlight housing

Disconnect the ground wire from the battery with the ignition off. Remove the lock support trim. Disconnect plug connection "2". Unscrew screws "3, 4, 5" on headlight housing "1".



Pull the headlight housing "1" forward "arrow A" until the headlight guides come out of the runner mountings. Then move the headlight housing towards the "arrow B" wing and remove it from the runners.

Installation

Installation in reverse order. Install the outer edge of the headlight housing "1" inside, behind the wing. Move the headlight housing inwards "arrow A"; in doing so, the guides on the headlight housing "2" must engage in the retainer guides "3" "arrows". Insert the headlight housing downwards into the headlight housing retainer to the stop "arrow B". The headlight housing must enter its seating recess easily and without force.



When installing headlight "4", make sure that the ventilation "3" of the headlight is evenly placed on the fastening "2" of the ventilation hose "1" "arrow".



Tighten bolts "3, 4, 5". Install the lock support trim. Connect the battery.

Replacing the gas discharge lamp "L13"/"L14"

Remove the headlight housing. Unlock cover "1" of the gas discharge lamp by turning it counterclockwise "arrow" and remove it from the headlight housing.



Turn the gas discharge lamp "2" in the direction of the "arrow" and remove it from the headlight housing. Disconnect plug connection "1".

Installation

Installation in reverse order. Connect the connector and insert the new gas discharge lamp into the housing, being careful not to touch the glass bulb of the lamp with bare hands. Mounting position: connector facing downwards. Close the housing cover by turning it clockwise. The marking "2" on the headlight housing and the arrow "1" on the housing cover must match.





Install the headlight housing.

Replacement of the LED module for the low beam headlights for daytime driving and parking lights "L176"/"L177"

The daytime running lights and parking lights are LEDs and are built into the headlight housing. Replacing LEDs is not possible; the entire headlight assembly must be replaced.

Replacing the front side marker light bulb "M33"/"M34"

The front side marker light bulb is an LED and is installed in the headlight housing. Replacing the LEDs is not possible, the headlight must be replaced completely.

Removal and installation the low beam shutter "V294"/"V295"

The low beam shutter is located in the headlight housing and cannot be replaced separately in the event of a malfunction.

Replacing the front turn signal bulb "M5"/"M7"

Remove a used gas discharge lamp. Remove the LED module from the system. lighting for daytime driving and stop lights. Through the gas discharge lamp control unit hole, turn the socket "1" counterclockwise with pliers "arrow" and remove it from the retainer. Remove the cartridge through the hole of the LED module system. lighting for daytime driving and stop lights. Disconnect the connector and remove the cartridge.





Installation in reverse order. Insert the new bulb into the socket on the headlight, being careful not to touch the glass bulb with your bare hands. Install the LED module system. lighting for daytime driving and stop lights. Install a used gas discharge lamp.

Removal and installation the gas discharge lamp control unit "J343"/"J344"

Remove the headlight housing. Unscrew the "arrow" bolts. Remove the used "1" from the headlight housing. Disconnect adapter cable "3" and connector "4" on the used gas discharge lamp. Remove a used gas discharge lamp.



Installation in reverse order. Check gasket "2" between the used gas discharge lamp and the headlight housing for damage. Install the headlight housing.

Removal the LED daytime running light module and parking lights "L176"/"L177"

Remove the headlight housing. Unscrew the "arrow" bolts. Remove the LED module "1" for daytime running lights and parking lights from the headlight housing.



Disconnect wire "4" and release the retaining springs "arrow B" to do so. Disconnect wire "3" and release the retaining spring "arrow A" to do so. Remove the LED daytime running light and parking light module.

Installation

Installation in reverse order. Check the seal "1" between the LED module and the headlight housing.



Install the headlight housing.

Removal and installation the headlight power module "J667"/"J668"

Remove the headlight housing. Unscrew the "arrow" screws of the headlight module "1".





Remove headlight module "2" from headlight housing "1".

Disconnect plug connection "3".



Installation in reverse order. Check the gasket between the module and the headlight housing. Install the headlight housing.

Removal and installation the actuator motor of the dynamic adaptive lighting system "V318"/"V319"

Exec. email engine syst. the dynamic adaptive lighting is located in the headlight housing and cannot be replaced separately in the event of a malfunction. Replacing the headlight housing.

Removal and installation the headlight range control actuator motor "V48"/"V49" - vehicles up to model year 2012

Remove the headlight housing. To replace the executable. the engine headlight housing must be cut with a sharp carpet knife in the designated place. For subsequent closing of the mont. the housing cover is supplied with holes. Cut out the plug "1" from the headlight housing with a sharp carpet knife. After removing the plug, carefully remove any chips and fine dust from the headlight housing. Unscrew the "arrow" bolts of engine version "2".



Remove the LED module from the system. lighting for daytime driving and stop lights. Through the hole of the LED module sys. for daytime driving and parking lights, press the ball head mount "3" back. Extend the ball head of the adjustment axis by turning the actuator. engine "1" down from the ball head mount. Remove the actuator motor from the headlight housing. Disconnect plug connection "2".



Installation in reverse order. First, place the ball head of the adjustment axis from below into the reflector ball head mount by pulling the reflector back. Close the hole in the headlight with housing cover "1" from the repair kit. Tighten the arrow bolts.



Install the headlight housing.
